What is Quality Auditing?
At AWS we audit for compliance of quality, safety and environment. We also may audit contractors for capability to conduct a project in terms of technical competence, capability and personnel resources. Auditing to ensure a project has been built in accordance with contract specifications may include imported items, raw materials, construction phase compliance, commissioning, expediting.
Changes to personnel, changes to suppliers of materials (e.g. local to imported), services and systems can alter compliance, so regular auditing is essential to manage and maintain project quality and efficiency.
Why is it important?
Auditing helps ensure compliant, safe projects are delivered on time and to specification. This process also helps to mitigate and manage risks, and provide return on investment for owners, as projects will be managed more effectively.
Auditing may lead to recommendations that could include Inspections, which is where AWS can offer dual services to help you out.
Who needs it?
Auditing is a tool to monitor asset maintenance for systems, plants and projects in a variety of industries. Any major projects would benefit from auditing, which can help reduce the risk or effects of mistakes before they get out of hand. Quality Auditing is essentially insurance for owners and operators against issues of incompliance or mismanagement.
