AICIP EXAMINATION

The AICIP (Australian Institute for the Certification of Inspection Personnel) exam qualifies successful candidates to be In-Service Inspectors of pressure equipment.

The AICIP exam and Senior AICIP exams are offered only twice a year. Due to the high-risk nature of in-service inspection, Inspectors have to be specialists in this field, and so the qualifying exam is quite challenging. Our Workshops have consistently produced successful and confident Inspectors though, with our pass rate at around 95%.

This exam (including its fee and enrolment) is separate to our workshops.

Our AICIP Workshop at AWS CE was developed by one of the Australian industry’s foremost Senior Inspectors and Trainers, Les Cowley. Les’ knowledge is based on over 60 years of practical experience and qualification and is kept in line with current standards innovation due to his ongoing involvement in the industry. There is no one better in Australia to have as an Inspection mentor, and our students attest to this.

Our AICIP Workshop is world-class training. We have students travel from as far as New Zealand and Papua New Guinea for our Workshop, and Les himself has travelled to South Africa, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur to deliver advanced training on boilers and pressure vessels.

• Wall thinning
• Corrosion principles & types
• Various methods of testing and examination
• Practical exercises and discussion

If you have been working as a qualified In-Service Inspector, and you are ready to take the next step in your career, the AICIP Senior In-Service Inspector qualification will ensure you have a more advanced and focused knowledge of risks and defects, and will allow you to provide more specialised reports and recommendations.

This advanced Workshop is only one week, due to the Candidates existing knowledge, but will get you prepared for the Senior AICIP exam.

Les Cowley, who has been a Senior Inspector himself for many years, delivers this Workshop.
