to conduct prescribed Inspection activities.
- Nominating the required NDT and mechanical testing to be conducted by testing technicians
- The examination of test reports
- The evaluation of test results
- Actioning the entire inspection criteria of a project- client specification and regulatory requirements
All of the project quality elements are then combined into the manufacturers data reporting.
Different from NDT
Non Destructive Testing (NDT) and mechanical testing requires detailed knowledge expertise and qualification. However the roles and regulatory responsibilities of the Welding Inspector are very different to those of the NDT technician.
The qualified Welding Supervisor and the Welding Inspector have obligations under the statutory regulations to operate under a specific Code of Ethics.
