You would have heard us droning on about our new UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) services over the past year, but this week we’ve taken the final step to make this plan a reality.
Last May, our Chief Inspector, Supervisor and now Pilot, Garth Heard undertook an intensive course to become a commercial UAV pilot. He has since been working with a team of engineers to create policies and procedures that comply with CASA regulations, and our own Quality Policy. The team has researched and practised with a range of different UAV devices, looking for the perfect drone to suit our needs. This week, we’ll receive our new UAV.
The chosen UAV has all the best gadgets. This nifty quadcopter allows us to capture all kinds of video and still images, including thermal imaging. It’s nimble enough to get right up close to anything we want to have a look at and steady enough to provide high-definition footage for our inspections. It also has a bunch of safety features that reduces the risk of in-flight issues and potential danger to structures or people nearby.
Garth and the team are excited to get the new UAV off the ground and get started on a huge range of remote inspection services we will be able to provide.
